Painting the Nest

This is our home as it looked when we bought the house. We have done some landscaping. But the house is drab to me and needs a face lift.

DH had a storage building built (a mini home at 16 x 16) and I had to go ahead and pick the shingles for the roofing. The roofing I chose was Estate Grey knowing we were going to paint the house and replace the shingles on the house. Now we are at the paint stage. Or choosing the paint colors. DH would really like to go grey.

Here is one with white shutters and black door that is very striking actually, even with white shutters!

Then we have this two. The first is grey with black shutters and the second is actually grey with navy shutters. Even though it is not the style of our home, you can get an idea of the coloring. The shutters could go navy or they could go black.

Now we have my favorite. I love a white house and have always wanted a "big" white house. I just think it is a classic.

Now we will be adding a portico to the front of our house, for architectural interest as well as protection from the elements. So just for decorative interest, I have added the following picture. Love the pots and plants flanking the front door.
