Instead of taking just one dance class geared toward her high school age group she is taking 5 and possibly a 6th dance class. She will be taking 2 regular dance classes (ballet, jazz, tap combo), a jazz class, a ballet class, her mandatory company class and possibly an hip-hop class. She will be taking dance 4 days a week.
Company dancers don't just perform at recitals, they also perform at competitions throughout the fall culminating in a national competition in late Nov-early Dec. They also raise money for the Duke Pediatric Brain Tumor clinic by performing a jazz benefit every spring.
Now we just have to fit show choir into all of this!! And keep our grades up...I don't think the grades will be a problem but she will have a very busy year!
