Praying for my Husband...

As many of you may remember, I really felt like my spiritual life and my prayer life were in despair. I purchased a book to "teach" me how to pray and I also purchased "Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World". Well they just haven't gotten me going yet.

At our church we have a fall and spring University of Life and there is something for everyone from Finances, to parenting, to marriage, to outreach and missions, etc. Some are just studying a particular book of the Bible.

My husband and I decided this fall to take the marriage enrichment course which is basically a study of the book of Solomon. And it is taught by our senior Pastor and his wife.

Did you know Raisin Cakes are an aphrodisiac??? I'm serious here.

Anyway, we have only been for our 1st week and I am learning so much already. But one thing it has led me to do is pray for our marriage and to pray for my husband specifically. So over to my mom's house I go to ransack her bookcases and there is was...

Stormie Omartian's The Power of a Praying Wife. Right off, it shares with us one of my favorite verses, "Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life."

~Proverbs 31:10-12

Right now I am learning about the power of prayer over my husband and over our marriage, but soon I will learn what and how to specifically pray for "hot spots". I will keep you posted.

Have a blessed week!!

That is a wonderful book. I can't tell you the number of times I've read it all the way through, not to mention parts here and there. I always keep it on the front seat of my car and pick it up when I'm stopped in traffic, etc. It will do wonders for you, your marriage and your husband.

I'll look for this book for sure.
And, I'll look forward to hearing more about your class.

Hugs!

I've heard that's a great book..good for you. Marriage is tough enough as it is, so I admire you for taking classes. We need all the help we can get these days.

Oh dear I feel like I'm in the minority, I could not get to grips with this book, I can't remember why exactly but I know it made me cross. A book I am enjoying on marriage is "Created to be his Helpmeet" by Debi Pearl. There is a lot of wisdom there, and it's very relevant and inspiring.
