Well it's about time...

for me to post again. I apologize to my faithful readers. It has been a very hectic week. It is dance recital time and as some of you know, my DD is a company dancer and was supposed to dance about 14 dances in this year's recital. There are doing 4 recitals (last night, 2 today, and 1 tomorrow). We have had rehearsal every night until about 10 pm. Tuesday night, she hurt her knee while rehearsing her first dance. Through pain meds and a knee brace, she has danced all week through the pain. Thurday night, last dress rehearsal, rehearsal ends, time to leave, and her knee gives out and she falls. Off to the ER. Well it looks like she may have a fractured fibula and a torn miniscus. We see a surgeon on Monday. So I ask for your prayers for less pain, speedy recovery, no surgery, etc.

So since I have been absent, I have a few things for you:
I don't know about you, but with gas prices so high, I had to rethink my transportation....
I went and purchased a West Virginia Motorcycle:
A COWASAKI!!! (hee hee...I know that was bad!!)
Ronald Reagan said some amazing things and stood for so many great things while he was in office, wise words from a wise man. During this election year, I thought we should reflect....
'Here's my strategy on the Cold War:We win, they lose.'- RonaldReagan
'The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.'- RonaldReagan
'The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so.'- RonaldReagan
'Of the four wars in my lifetime, none came about because the U.S.was too strong.'- RonaldReagan
'I have wondered at times about what the Ten Commandments would have looked like if Moses had run them through the U.S. Congress.'- Ronald Reagan
'The taxpayer: That's someone who works for the federal government but doesn't have to take the civil service examination.'- RonaldReagan
'Government is like a baby: An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other.'- RonaldReagan

'The nearest thing to eternal life we will ever see on this earth is a government program.'- RonaldReagan
'It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first.'- RonaldReagan
'Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.'- RonaldReagan

'Politics is not a bad profession. If you succeed, there are many rewards; if you disgrace yourself, you can always write a book.'- RonaldReagan
'No arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is as formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women.'- RonaldReagan
'If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.'-RonaldReagan

(you may have seen this next one for yourself)
And I found this from Bill Gates, undoubtedly a very intelligent man:
This should be posted in all schools and work places. Love him or hate him, he sure hits the nail on the head with this! Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.
Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!
Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.
Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.
Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.
Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.
Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.
Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.
