Top of the Tuesday to you...

My new blog friend Lisa @ Growing Up Southern is a Privilege Really clued me in through her blog about a Shaggin' event (that's dancing to beach music in the south) sponsored by the NC Stte Alumni Club and the Meredith Alumnae Association. If you are in this area check out the details on her blog here. Reading through her blog, it seems that she too has an interest in beach music. Please check out her blog and leave her a comment that I sent you!
I don't know if you remember my post about Pink Preppy Party Girl: PREPPY MUSIC...A COLLECTOR'S ITEM that featured the CD... Preppy Deluxe. Well I did purchase 2 copies of this CD, giving 1 to my daddy for Father's Day and keeping one for myself. Even though there are a few songs I don't know, there are many I love. After purchasing the CD's, I checked out Ripete Records website. Lots of great CDs, new and old for oldies and beach music fans. And for you longtime fans of Beach Music, a new group formed in 2007 know as the Legends of Beach...can you guess some of the members?? Jackie Gore, Gerald Davis, and Johnny Barker, all previously of the Embers. As well as Jeff Grimes, Mark Black, TOny Davis, Rusty Smith and Jason Moore. I think I will definitely be purchasing their CD as well.

And for all you Cliff Ellis fan (NCAAbasketball coach at Bama/Birm, Clemson, Auburn and Coastal Carolina), did you know he was a recording artist with a rather storied past in music? Check out his CD as well.

Since we are talking about the beach...I'm on the hunt...Remember my Vera Bradley beach bag and flip flops and visor my dear husband gave me last year?

Well I love them all, and they were perfect in Florida...believe it or not, I actually wore the flops (straw, fabric, and all) at the waterpark. I had hoped for shady walk ways and wanted to look super cute and matching so I wore these instead of my Margaritaville flips. Well the cement was very hot, so I ended up wearing them most of the day and on the water rides. They held up perfectly!! No straw shedding and no fading!! I am tickled "Bermuda Pink". So now, I am on the hunt for the beach towel that also goes with the collection, and maybe the wallet on a string. Hopefully I can find them before my next beach trip as they are discontinued so eBay here I come.
Gotta order my monogrammed Tervis Tumblers before then as well. All those who love all things monogrammed, do you know where I can find really pretty monogrammed Tervis Tumblers...I know there are loads of website, but hoping someone can recommend one to me.
Also, for all of you with preppy pups, I would like to find little quality doggy dresses, maybe seersucker or cotton with monograms on them or the preppy embroidery like sailboats and such...much like the wonderfully little smocked toddler clothing. My "Miss Belle" needs some!!
Finally, leaving you with a little Maxine entitled "The Best Living Will I Have Ever Seen":

I, MAXINE , being of sound mind and body, do not wish to be kept alive indefinitely by artificial means. Under no circumstances should my fate be put in the hands of pinhead politicians who couldn't pass ninth-grade biology if their lives depended on it, or lawyers / doctors interested in simply running up the bills. If a reasonable amount of time passes and I fail to ask for at least one of the following:

Glass of wine, Chocolate, Margarita, Martini straight up, Cold Beer, Scotch on the Rocks, Chicken Fried Steak, Cream Gravy, Chocolate, Mexican Food, Chocolate, French Fries, ChocolatePizza, Chocolate Ice Cream, Cup of Coffee, Chocolate, Sex, Chocolate

It should be presumed that I won't ever get better. When such a determination is reached, I hereby instruct my appointed person and attending physicians to pull the plug, reel in the tubes, let the 'fat lady sing'. . and call it a day!

Hi Jenn,

I love your beach tote and sandals. I do remember them. Did you check out Vera site and email them. Maybe they have some left over. If I see any beach towels in that print I'll let you know. Always love a good Maxine. LOL

Hi dear! Thanks for the lovely link and I wanted to tip you off to a LOCAL Tervis vendor too! (You'll see her in my blog often... Mandy is AWESOME. Her store is in Cary, NC but if that's too far out of the way, she has Tervis online, too!)

Tervis Tumblers at Swagger Gifts

Please let me know if you need any help ordering, and feedback would be much appreciated as I help her with her blog and website. (IE: Is there any other info you'd like to have before ordering, etc., etc.)

Happy shopping!

Very, very cute! I look for Vera at yard sales and thrift stores, but I've never found a pink one...yet.

Good luck with your search!
