O' Christmas Tree...

I have been trying to post Christmas posts for a week and today is the first time I could even get blogger to load my own blog. Luckily, I have still been able to read many of yours and have been so delighted with each one of them.
Though I don't feel like the pictures do it justice, this is our formal Christmas tree. For some reason the top of the tree has become bent, so please forgive me. I did not even notice until I went to take the picture. From the bow are 4 cascading ribbons that go all the way to the bottom of the tree. All of my presents are wrapped in gold metallic kraft paper from www.nashvillewraps.com and this year, my "trick" was to use different ribbons to identify to me each recipient. Love going to Costco and buying their huge rolls of ribbon for only $6.95. I even used ribbon off the rolls to decorate other areas of my home and still have at least 1/2 the rolls left.
Here is a close up of the tree. I used gold tone and gold sparkly curly branches to tuck in open spots. For some reason, they seem so much more predominate at the top but they are all over the tree. The special thing about this tree, is every ornament on the tree was made by my grandmother and her sisters. Though they started making them before I was born, the made more each year. I remember sitting at my grandmother's table and watching them add pearls and beading and sequins to each silk ball. I am so glad I was able to receive the ornaments when my grandmother passed. I can't imagine not having these. Some have gone by the wayside...unrepairable, and some went to my cousins as my grandmother made one for each grandchild and great-grandchild that was already born. I wish you could see how lovely the ornaments are. More importantly, they are lovely to me, and there will always be a tree in my home that has just these ornaments.
I hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Christmas!

It always amazes me to see the wonderfully decorated trees and creativity every year. My children still insist on decorating the Christmas tree and since some of them are still young and three are boys, well......you can imagine. Our tree always looks fun and pretty, but not quite "beautifully decorated". I have saved photos of such trees over the years in a file on my computer. I treid to save a photo of your tree, but it wouldn't let me. Would you mind if I saved a copy of your tree? Maybe you could email it to me. Anyway...it is very beautifully done. I especially like the ribbon throughout.
