Road Trip...

Today, the DD, the honey, my mom and myself are off on a road trip. We are heading south about 3 hours to visit the last college on our list. More importantly, it is the college (university) that DD has chosen to attend. We will have a personalized tour, meet with an academic advisor (frosh actually get to start registering for classes on the 31st), a financial advisor, eat a meal on campus, DD will sit it on a class, and hopefully see the dorm (and an actual room) that she will be living in. She met her roomie on Facebook (the college's class of 2014 page) of all places and lives the next city over from here. They have so much in common it is amazing, they are texting and really getting to know one another. They are picking out bedding and room accessories online. The claim they will have the preppiest room on campus!! Either LillyP or pink and green in general. The 2 plan to shop/meet up on Sunday. Her roomie is planning on majoring in pharmacy.

We are very excited. The university she choose was not on her original list. They contacted her about applying. It is a very small private university with under 2000 undergrads. What is even more exciting and makes us so very proud is that in her acceptance letter, the school informed her that she had been awarded the prestigious Trustee scholarship!! While it doesn't pay for all of the cost of attending, the total award would easily cover 4 years at one of our state universities. She is also applying for other scholarships as well. As I said, we are so very proud of her and excited for her as she takes the next step! We love you Brookie Doodles!
